We work directly with owners, founders, C-suite executives, HR directors, employee-relations specialists, practice administrators, or any decision-maker who needs clear, objective guidance on a high-conflict situation. You bring us the problem (a difficult founder, challenging partner, disruptive employee, escalating team drama, board conflict, etc.).
We help you analyze the patterns, forecast risks, and think through every realistic option using the High Conflict Personality framework and decades of real-world experience.
Together we build a step-by-step plan so you can make confident, well-informed decisions about what to do next..
Our organizational consultations are designed for leaders who are facing patterns of conflict that feel unpredictable, disproportionate, or persist despite coaching and HR intervention. We work with:
Executives and founders managing destabilizing behavior from key staff
HR and People Operations teams navigating repeated complaints, investigations, or toxic dynamics
Healthcare, education, and nonprofit organizations dealing with high-stress environments where conflict escalates quickly
Managers and team leads struggling with a disruptive employee or chronically difficult colleague
Organizations experiencing turnover, morale problems, or stalled productivity due to one or two high-conflict individuals
Any workplace where traditional conflict-resolution tools haven’t worked
If conflict in your organization feels irrational, draining, or impossible to resolve, this is exactly the kind of situation we specialize in.
We provide targeted, practical support designed to reduce disruption quickly and strengthen leadership confidence. Our services may include:
1-on-1 coaching for the high-conflict individual or the leaders managing them — to stabilize behavior, reduce escalations, and restore workplace trust
Focused training for managers, supervisors, or leadership teams — to equip them with clear strategies for responding to high-conflict behavior and preventing future flare-ups
Customized workshops for staff or affected departments — to diffuse tension, rebuild team cohesion, and create a shared language for healthier communication
Ongoing advisory support throughout complex cases — to guide documentation, policy decisions, performance management, and mediated conversations with expert precision
Organization-wide communication protocols (BIFF®, CARS Method®, and B4 Skills) — to improve clarity, reduce reactive communication, and create consistent conflict-reducing practices across the organization
Every engagement is fully tailored. Some organizations need just one or two strategy sessions; others partner with us for months as behind-the-scenes conflict advisors to resolve issues completely and strengthen long-term organizational resilience.
High-conflict situations aren’t ordinary workplace disagreements—they require a specialized approach built on experience, psychology, and proven strategy. Our team is uniquely qualified because:
We pioneered the High Conflict Personality (HCP) framework.
Developed by co-founder Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq., the HCP model is now used worldwide in courts, behavioral health, mediation, and organizational leadership. It remains one of the only structured approaches designed specifically for dealing with high-conflict behaviors.
Our consultants bring decades of focused expertise.
We are mental health professionals, attorneys, mediators, workplace investigators, and organizational strategists who have spent our careers addressing the most entrenched and disruptive conflict patterns.
We understand the legal, psychological, and operational risks.
High-conflict personalities create issues that ripple through HR, leadership, compliance, and team culture. Because our team spans these disciplines, we help you prevent escalation, reduce liability, and protect your organization on multiple fronts.
We deliver tools that work in real-world pressure.
Our methods are research-informed yet practical. Leaders tell us our frameworks give them clarity and confidence—especially when navigating irrational, defensive, or destructive behavior.
We’ve helped thousands of leaders across industries.
From healthcare systems and universities to corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies, we’ve guided organizations through some of their most challenging interpersonal and structural conflicts.

I approached HCI at the recommendation of my employer’s HR department due to the magnitude and complexity of the personnel management difficulties I was encountering on a daily basis as the manager of a large group of employees (about 40).
Bringing in HCI to help was hands down the best decision I have ever made. First, Megan Hunter came onsite to visit with multiple stakeholders for a couple days and taught all of us how to use EAR and BIFF. Over the next few months through video coaching sessions, Megan and her team continued to teach me and my managers productive ways to handle difficult conversations and scenarios. Eventually, this led to a complete restructuring of my management team. The new management team was set up for success through one on one coaching sessions with Georgi DiStefano, co-author of the book, It’s All Your Fault at Work.
After about two years of dedication to improving the workplace with HCI’s coaching, I am pleased to say that we all spend MUCH less time on personnel management and more time being productive! I am so thankful to the team at HCI for helping me lead and build my team so that we all benefit from a productive and enjoyable work environment.
If you are struggling with seemingly endless personnel conflicts, I strongly encourage you to ask HCI for help! Changing the work culture will take some time and dedication; however it will be well worth the effort.
